Hato Caves

These caves were formed under the sea and became accessible by land after the sea level dropped . Beautiful stalactite and stalagmite formations , pools and a waterfall are now visible . Located on the north side of the island , it was once a place of shelter for escaped slaves . Indigenous people also made use of the caves as indicated by the petroglyphs they left behind .
