Handelskade
The picture-perfect features of Handelskade makes it ideal for postcards. Visitors also enjoy
memorializing their visits to this beautiful part of the city by taking numerous photos which
are guaranteed to generate many wows from friends back home. The array of brightly painted
buildings, sitting resplendently along the Willemstad waterfront, is reminiscent of old Amsterdam,
and relaxing at a café along this picturesque waterfront is the perfect thing to do after a day of
island exploration.
Queen Emma Pontoon Bridge
Connecting two sections of the city of
Willemstad - Punda and Otrobanda, with
16 pontoon boats supporting it at its base,
this bridge is a huge tourist attraction.
Built in 1888, it parts to allow ships to
move into and out of the St. Anna Bay
which keeps visitors intrigued as they
walk by, or while they sit at cafes along
the waterfront. At night, the intrigue
continues as the bridge is lit up, creating a
sensational sight.
