El Tucuche
Shaped like a pyramid, this is Trinidad’s second highest peak. A magnificent
3070 feet of lush greenery, El Tucuche is often traversed by hikers who, on a
clear day, will be treated to views of Maracas Beach, the capital Port-of-Spain
and the Caroni swamp when they get to the summit. It is the home of the
golden tree frog, birds, butterflies and other wildlife. Maracas Falls lie at the
foot of El Tucuche, so too does the small village of Lluengo.
