Antiguans love cricket, and be it a test match
or one day international cricket match, it is an
exciting time for all the cricket lovers on the
island - and there are many!
Ths island has over the years, produced some
great cricket players who were part of the West
Indies Cricket Team and certainly left a legacy
of which Antiguans and the Caribbean should
be proud. Andy Roberts was a well known name
in the 1970’s and early 80’s as a fast bowler. Sir
Richie Richardson joined the West Indies Cricket
Team in 1983. He was a powerful batsman
who later became the team’s captain. Curtley
Ambrose is considered to have been one of the
best fast bowlers in the world and Sir Vivian
Richards is ranked a s one of the world’s greatest
cricketers with a cricketing career that lasted
from 1974 to 1991.
Attending a cricket match in Antigua is like
no other. The DJ music, the food, the fans, the
ambience and the pulsating excitement! If
you’re in Antigua and cricket is being played, be
