EVENTS NOVEMBER The Taco Festival Held annually in the town of Orange Walk, this culinary festival showcases tacos prepared in a variety of ways. Cultural presentations and live performances by local artists are part of this event. NOVEMBER Battle of the Drums This is a celebration of Garifuna music and culture held in the Toledo District. Its intent is to: “revive and promote various aspects of the Garifuna culture particularly the Garifuna drumming, singing and dance in Punta Gorda Town.” Source: www.battleofthedrums.bz NOVEMBER 19 Garifuna Settlement Day November 19th marks the arrival of the Garifuna people to Belize. This day is now a national holiday with celebrations taking place in all of the Garifuna communities in the country. DECEMBER San Pedro Holiday Boat Parade In Ambergris Caye, decorated boats participate in this annual event which is an impressive display of lights celebrating the Christmas season.
