Nveis' small size makes it easy and fun to explore

All the islands of the Caribbean are
known to be beautiful places to
vacation but for me, Nevis is one of the
best, providing all that the other islands
can offer but doing it in its own special way.
The island is small with a population of just over
11,000 but its size means that it is easier to explore.
Like the other islands in the Caribbean, Nevis has
sun, sand and beautiful seas ideal for swimming,
diving and snorkeling but unlike many of the other
islands, Nevis’ beaches are not crowded and you
can often find one to enjoy all by yourself, soaking
up the sunshine and solitude.
Its small size allows you to punctuate each day’s
sun-worship with other activities such as taking in
a bit of history at the Horatio Nelson Museum or
perhaps exploring the Botanical Gardens where
flora from all around the world are on display. The
more adventurous may opt for a hike on one of
Nevis’ many trails and finish off the day with a visit
to Bath Village for revitalization in the hot springs.
These experiences are well within reach, all in one
day. Being small does have its benefits!
Two of the main land-sports usually associated
with the Caribbean Islands are cricket and football
(soccer), which are both popular in Nevis, but
surprisingly this small island also has its own Drag
Racing Track and although not exactly Ascot, also
has a horse racing venue. Those who are into golf
and triathlons will also find Nevis a worthwhile
travel spot.
So travellers, be prepared to revel in sun, sea, sand,
sports, history and natural beauty on the idyllic
Caribbean Island of Nevis. I guarantee you will
agree that one visit just isn’t enough - the island
does have an indescribable charm which coyly
lures visitors back, repeatedly. Those who visit
once and are not able to go back will have pleasant
memories that will linger on for many, many years.
I encourage you to plan a visit to Nevis. You’ll love it!
