Stephanie’s background growing
up in White Rock, B.C. initially
consisted of soccer, a game she
loves, having started playing since
she was three years old. She
played soccer for the province of
British Columbia and eventually
received a soccer scholarship
which took her to Nashville.
While there she fell in love with
design and returned to Canada
to study in Vancouver. She
attended the Art Institute and
was so determined to get her
career started that she completed
a four year programme in just
two years without taking a break!
On completion of her studies
Stephanie landed an international
job then branched out on her
own.
Stephanie has always been
creative and loved design
and spacial planning. Her
design career allows her to
create beautiful spaces for her
commercial and residential
clients. She makes a space
workable and creates zones for
85
individuals and groups of people
so that they can enjoy that space.
Many of Stephanie’s projects
use bespoke furniture from
a few hundred years ago to
customize new pieces. They are
made locally, in Barbados, with
beautiful wood, metal and stone.
These bespoke pieces are added
as new items to a space. She has
customised many pieces going
from pen to paper to reality.
She also does the same with
decorative items. To her, many of
the items, whether commercial
or residential are custom pieces
which brings some additional
beauty to a space.
“I don’t do much decorating but
it does play its role in what I do.”
Stephanie shares. “It can be very
technical but it still can be very
rewarding. I think it is something
that will never leave you if you love
it and it will be in your hands, feet,
and body for as long as you live.”
