D’ Loran was born on the island of Curacao. After finishing high school in 1989, he moved to Europe (Netherlands) to study Fashion design. In 1995 he returned to Curacao where he immediately embarked on establishing his niche in the market. He quickly gained a loyal client base and in 1999 became the first local designer to have his collection sold in a local boutique. In 2001 he formally established his Atelier - D’Loran Exclusive where he’s been working as a Fashion designer, Stylist and Fashion Consultant. His clients range from brides to local celebrities/socialites to pageant contestants and political dignitaries. Curacao’s biggest celebration is the yearly Carnival Parade. D’ Loran has been creating inspiring costumes for the past 20 years. In 2013 his Atelier manufactured the costumes for the leading lady in the international action film “Tula The Revolt”. With all the challenges and limitations that an island -mentality brings, he revived the sewing industry and made his name synonymous with Style, Class and Exclusivity. D’ Loran once said: “The flame of beauty will lose its luster, but the embers of Fashion will linger forever. Beauty is subjective to the eye of the beholder. It’s fickle and changes with time. Physical beauty peaks, then slowly fades away, but the vision and transformation to reality through the use of pencil to design, fabric to silhouette, embellishment to bedazzlement… It’s Fashion…It’s Art….It’s Timeless”.
