Markita’s design creativity is
inspired by life and everything in
it like the outstanding landscapes,
beautiful people, positive music
and very unique fabrics. “To be
honest it feels sometimes as if the
fabric speaks to me because from
the moment I see unique inspiring
fabric, I automatically vision the
piece.”
To Markita, fashion is a form of
expression. She thinks that just
like any art form, the clothes you
wear and how you wear it should
highlight both your personal style
and character. Fashion is like the
freedom to express yourself openly
without any boundaries.
When it comes to colours, there’s
no limit for Menen-I Designs.
Every colour is embraced. “Once
the color or pattern makes that
“light bulb” go off in my head,
that’s all I need to visioning and
completing the piece. Also I think
colors come with a specific energy,
that is colors exude a specific energy.
For example, I designed and made
a nail polish red dress a few months
ago and when I first saw the fabric
in the garment store I visioned the
dress being impressively seductive yet
conservative.”
