Growing up in Mare Rouge, Haiti, Ron Duprat was an avid onlooker at the events taking place in his grandmother’s kitchen. As she cooked, he paid close attention and from a very tender age, knew without a doubt that he wanted to be a chef. Ron moved to the United States years later and first worked as a dishwasher. Again, his close proximity to the kitchen ensured that his avid desire to be a chef was always at the forefront of his mind. While attending La Varenne Ecole de Cuisine and the Culinary Institute of America, Ron constantly vowed to make amazing, beautiful dishes to delight the palate of people the world over. His dream was eventually realized. He got the opportunity to participate in Bravo TV’s “Top Chef ” competition. During one of that season’s episodes in Las Vegas, Chef Duprat expertly combined his rich Haitian heritage with French Asian influences to produce exotic flavours quickly
making him the crowd favourite. Since then, Chef Ron Duprat has been living his dream. He travels throughout the world, exhibiting his culinary prowess in cooking demonstrations. He works as a celebrity chef in restaurants, resorts and companies; he’s currently a consultant for the international food company, Rastelli Direct and also works as a consulting executive chef for the Sugar Bay Resort in St. Thomas, United States Virgin Islands. Chef Ron also had the honour of working his culinary magic for the President and First Lady Obama, Jay Z, Beyoncé, Usher and other celebrities.
