CHEF DUPRAT | Mélange Travel & Lifestyle Magazine

Growing up in Mare
Rouge, Haiti, Ron Duprat
was an avid onlooker
at the events taking place in his
grandmother’s kitchen. As she
cooked, he paid close attention
and from a very tender age, knew
without a doubt that he wanted
to be a chef. Ron moved to the
United States years later and first
worked as a dishwasher. Again,
his close proximity to the kitchen
ensured that his avid desire to be a
chef was always at the forefront of
his mind.
While attending La Varenne
Ecole de Cuisine and the
Culinary Institute of America,
Ron constantly vowed to make
amazing, beautiful dishes to
delight the palate of people
the world over. His dream was
eventually realized. He got
the opportunity to participate
in Bravo TV’s “Top Chef ”
competition. During one of that
season’s episodes in Las Vegas,
Chef Duprat expertly combined
his rich Haitian heritage with
French Asian influences to
produce exotic flavours quickly

making him the crowd favourite.
Since then, Chef Ron Duprat has
been living his dream. He travels
throughout the world, exhibiting
his culinary prowess in cooking
demonstrations. He works as
a celebrity chef in restaurants,
resorts and companies; he’s
currently a consultant for the
international food company,
Rastelli Direct and also works as a
consulting executive chef for the
