Peter’s Cave
A
bit of hking is required to get to this
cave located on Cayman Brac’s north
east overlooking Spot Bay. It is quite a
significant cave for the people on this
island as traditionally, during hurricanes,
residents use it to shelter from the storm.
From the cave you’ll get a spectacular
view of Spot Bay and the blue Caribbean
Sea.
There are other caves on Cayman Brac
such as Rebecca’s Cave in the south west,
so named in honour of a little girl who
died in the cave while her family was
sheltering from a storm. Her grave remains
here as a reminder of that tragedy.
There is Bat Cave. For those who are not
bothered by these hanging creatures, a
visit to this cave can be interesting.
Nani’s Cave and the Great Cave’s
stalagmites and stalactites will surely
impress.
