Botanical Gardens In order to protect what was left of the island’s plant life and to reintroduce plants that were destroyed by the island’s volcanic activity, the National Trust created a Botanical Garden. Today visitors are welcome to visit the gardens, which serves not only as pleasure for the eyes but it also offers an educational experience.
