Botanical
Gardens
In order to protect what was left of the island’s plant life and to
reintroduce plants that were destroyed by the island’s volcanic activity,
the National Trust created a Botanical Garden. Today visitors are
welcome to visit the gardens, which serves not only as pleasure for the
eyes but it also offers an educational experience. You can learn about
traditional plants endemic to the island and also about plants with
medicinal properties, among other things.
