St. John’s Cathedral
A historic building in Belize City, this
church was built in the 1800’s by slaves
using bricks that European ships used as
ballast to provide stability to the ships on
their seaward journeys. On the church
grounds is the Yarborough Cemetery, the
oldest in the country.
The St. John’s Cathedral is the oldest
Anglican church in Central America.
