St. Thomas
Wild iguanas roam this park which
features the Marine Gardens Aquarium,
an underwater observatory, a coral reef
enclosed in a glass tank and many other
interactive marine experiences. The park
also offers parasailing or a trip in Nautilus, a
semi-submarine. Another popular activity
is to wear a Sea Trek helmet and take a walk
along the Caribbean Sea’s floor.

Charlotte Amalie, St.
Thomas
Named after a Danish Queen, Charlotte
Amalie is the capital of the USVI and
is located about mid-way along St.

99 Steps, St. Thomas
There are many steep staircases built into the
hills of Charlotte Amalie, some of which were
built by the Danish from ship-ballast brick.
Perhaps the most famous of these stairways
is known as the 99 steps even though it does
in fact have 103. Why this particular stairway
is so famous is because it is the one that leads
to the popular tourist attraction Blackbeard’s
Castle.
