Coral World Ocean Park, St. Thomas Wild iguanas roam this park which features the Marine Gardens Aquarium, an underwater observatory, a coral reef enclosed in a glass tank and many other interactive marine experiences. The park also offers parasailing or a trip in Nautilus, a semi-submarine. Another popular activity is to wear a Sea Trek helmet and take a walk along the Caribbean Sea’s floor. Photo Credit: TripAdvisor Charlotte Amalie, St. Thomas Named after a Danish Queen, Charlotte Amalie is the capital of the USVI and is located about mid-way along St. Thomas’s southern shore. Here among the pastel coloured, red roofed houses which have green hills for a backdrop, the largest collection of jewelry shops and boutiques in the Caribbean can be found. This is also the location for many Photo Credit: Roger W. 99 Steps, St. Thomas There are many steep staircases built into the hills of Charlotte Amalie, some of which were built by the Danish from ship-ballast brick. Perhaps the most famous of these stairways is known as the 99 steps even though it does in fact have 103.
