Akeem Adams was born on the beautiful island of St. Maarten. From
the age of two, he drew on everything that he came across; from
marking on walls with crayons to eventually painting pictures and
creating murals. As a child, he experienced an inspirational outburst
of Art. He endowed his talent and developed it each day as he colored
the pages of his imagination. He attended the Methodist Aggogic
Center (MAC) primary school and then graduated in 2004 to attend St.
Maarten Academy (Academic Section).
Throughout his school years, he entered in many art competitions and
not only did he win, but many St. Maarten locals became astounded
by the work which came from him as a young individual. At the age
of seventeen he entered the business of selling paintings with the
financial aid of his father and the encouragement of his Art teacher
Henry Thomas. An undaunted passion for the arts, Akeem’s self-taught
paintings are known for their mysterious use of colors that express
thought provoking feelings to touch the hearts of everyone who sees
them.
