Dawn Beach
Dawn Beach is aptly named as it is the place
that affords great views of the rising sun.
Located a little south of the French/Dutch
border, as well as being known for its great
sunrises, this beach is also known for its clear
waters making it an ideal place for snorkeling.
Although much of the shoreline is dominated
by the Westin Dawn Beach Resort & Spa,
beach chairs are free to use but the beach
does get busy. As the beach faces the Atlantic
Ocean the waves can get rough and so
families may want to consider swimming on
the French side at somewhere like Friar’s Bay
where the waters are calmer.

Front Street
If you are on vacation you probably have
money to spend and if you do, Front Street
is where you can spend it. Not only is there
the Coliseum Casino at the eastern end of
the street with its slot machines but all along
the street there are an assortment of shops
selling jewelry, electronics, china and much
more, all supposedly offering bargain prices.
Be aware that this street can get extremely
crowded, especially when a cruise ship has
stopped at the island.

Casino Royale
Although there are a total of 13 casinos on
the island, most tourists seem to prefer the
selection of 400 slot machines and over 20
tables that the Casino Royale has to offer.
The casino entices visitors with daily shows
at 10 pm in their 800 seat theatre. Although
the casino is free to enter, you will have to
pay if you sit at one of the tables or if you
fancy a spin on one of the machines.
