Carnival Queen Pageant - Who will reign supreme
and be crowned the Queen of Carnival? While enjoying as a spectator or a participator, look
out for the carnival veterans who have perfected
the art of “wining”. This is the local term for the
mesmerizingly rotational gyration of the hips to
the sounds of Caribbean music. I’m certain one
needs to practice lots before even atttempting to
wine, so, practice, then join the parade. Your skills
will by then be “on-point” and you can comfortably
dance along, having acquired one of the traits of
masqueraders. But , if try as you might, you just
can’t get it right, don’t worry about it. After all, its
carnival and its all about fun, so enjoy in whatever
way you can.
