PLACES OF INTEREST
Culebra Island
(Isla Culebra)
Culebra Island is 7
miles long and 3 miles
wide and the Isla de
Culebra National Wildlife
Refuge includes all of
its coastline and 20 of
the 23 smaller islands
around it. This means
that more than a third
of the island forms part
of the refuge and so
offers a well preserved
eco-environment. The
islands beaches with
palms lining their white
sands are close to perfect
and Playa Flamenco, a
horseshoe shaped beach
is the most popular
among them. With clear
waters and no significant
surf, these beaches are
ideal for both swimming
and diving.
