About her doll decorating programs
Doll Decorating/dressing is something I’ve been
fascinated with for some time. I have a friend who
does that so well. I never really put my hand to it
except recently. But it’s a craft that persons are into
and we offer it at Royal Globe Inc. Other sewing
related programs include teddy bear making,
children’s sewing and adult garment making and
home decor sewing classes.
The Home Décor Sewing Program was the first
program offered in December of 2015. It was tough
for me to teach the program, sew, manage the
business, and attend to customers at the same
time so I hired a tutor. I set the curriculum and she
teaches. She does a really good job and our students
are satisfied. On Saturdays, I teach the children and
teenage sewing classes ages 9 -13 and 14 -17. I love
those classes. I think I am as excited about the class
as the children. I love seeing them sew, and they are
so eager to learn. I remember at the start how they
disliked basting cause they felt it was so tedious and
now, they tell me “Miss, I’m going to baste it first so it
will be easier” and that makes me happy.

About where her clothing can be
purchased
At the moment, my clothing can be purchased at
my boutique at 21 Hanover, Roseau, Dominica.
In a few months my website will be up and running
so that will be another avenue. And I have a goal to
establish markets and start shipping out of Dominica
in one year.
Advice for young aspiring fashion
designers
My advice to any person looking to do anything is
to be persevering. Not everything happens quickly.
And like my mom ALWAYS says Rome wasn’t built in
a day, and I love to add ‘but it WAS built’.
