tourism product has changed over the
years?
Dominica will protect the island we see today and
preserve it for future generations of tomorrow.
However, there have been some changes over
the years in the diversity of our product offerings

encouraging the population to be part of the
nation’s sustainable development.
Are there any new tourism initiatives
that visitors can look forward to in
2017/2018?
Dominica is expecting a significant boost in the

What festivals are there that are unique
to Dominica which you think may be
of interest to a visitor interested in
exploring Dominica’s culture?
Dominica’s World Creole Music Festival held
during the last weekend in October. Three nights
of pulsating creole rhythm of various creole
musical genres. We celebrate our island culture in
its music heritage, its folklore and traditions, and
we celebrate the great coming together of the
generations of creole people and to show the world
our passion and energy for a culture and heritage
which we hold so dear to our hearts. Our Carnival,
Mas Domnik is known as the Real Mas, because it
holds true to Carnival traditions of the past and is
very spontaneous so all could participate.
We invite visitors to come and be part of the World
Creole Music Festival and Carnival to experience
the Dominican hospitality, creole cuisine that is
incomparable to anything in any part of the world,
a peaceful and loving environment and of course
a unique experience to discover the magic of the
creole musical idioms and the fun filled atmosphere
of our island.
