Omalie360 . . .
About the significance of the name
“Omalie360”
To a mathematician, 360 means full circle and
it represents the same thing to Omalie360
from a musical standpoint. 360 represents a
full circle of music whether it’s Pop, R&B, Jazz,
Reggae, Soul or Rap, he listens to and has an
immaculate vocal handle on all these genres.
“The evolution of music is not something I am
afraid of”, he says, “but I am bold and brave
enough to take on any genre. Music transcends
borders, cultures, race, age, time, and barriers.
Music started in heaven; it remains one of the
most powerful ways of communication and
relaxation.”
About his musical journey over the
years
Omalie360 was raised in a Christian home,
singing and music was a way of life, an
expression of faith and service to God. By age
15, he was performing at concerts around the
island of Dominica on a weekly basis. As lead
singer of then “Genesis” band, he appeared in
almost every major concert and was featured
on numerous albums. Omalie360’s knack for
performance and his impeccable ability to
command audiences with impressive manner
and style grew, as well as his exposure and
increasing fan base.
About his single, “What is Love”
Omalie360 wrote What is Love several years
ago when he moved to Anguilla. In this new
country and environment, Omalie360 initially
did little to no signing; hence, writing was his
connection to music at the time. He wrote
night after night adding hundreds of songs
to his songbooks during that period. The idea
for What is Love came after a conversation
about the topic of love. Cornell Phillip, one
of Dominica’s music producers, produced
the music and the music video was shot on
beautiful island of Anguilla.
About the most memorable
moment in his career, so far
The most memorable moment of his career
was sharing the stage with legendary musician-
songwriter, David Foster; Patti LaBelle, Brian
McKnight, Ruben Studdard, Judith Hill and
Charice at the Warner Theatre in Washington,
D.C. He actually performed What is Love there
and Mama, a song from his first album. “I’ll
never forget Brian McKnight telling me how great
my voice is. There were many other memorable
concerts and shows I did before and after, but this
one has remained in my heart and mind always.”
