The Montserrat Volcano Observatory www.mvoms.org Montserrat’s volcanic history is carefully documented and available for perusal at the Volcano Observatory located in the community of Salem. From its observation decks, you can get a clear view of the Soufrière Hills volcano and the once-vibrant, now buried city of Plymouth. The Observatory is open to visitors during the hours of 9:00 am and 4:00 pm. A short 30-minute movie about the history of the eruption, made by Montserratian David Lea, is shown at various times during the day. It can be viewed in English, French or Spanish.
