Maho Bay PLACES of interest Dawn Beach Dawn Beach is aptly named, as views of the sunrise from here are quite magnificent. Located a little south of the French/Dutch border, this beach is also known for its clear waters and soft, powdery- white sand. Since the passage of 2017’s Hurricane Irma, its pristine attributes are sometimes overshadowed by seaweed, but it still remains a lovely beach to visit and snorkeling too is amazing. The Westin Resort at the south of the beach still remains closed after the Hurricane, but Oyster Bay Beach Resort is open. Book your stay and savour pleasant St. Maarten experiences on her beaches and elsewhere. Maho Bay is not the place to be if you are looking for a tranquil time on a Sint Maarten beach, but it is very well-known for its close proximity to the Princess Juliana International Airport and presents an excellent vantage point from which to get an extraordinarily close view of planes on take off and landing. It is an experience like no other. Take photos as you won’t see this any where else. Image Source: TripAdvisor Photo Credit: Benny Lin/Flickr
