FLIGHTS RESUME
BahamasAir has resumed regular scheduled
international commercial flights to Florida from
Marsh Harbour, Abaco and Freeport, Grand
Bahama. Passengers travelling out of Freeport
are advised that check-in for all flights have been
re-located to the Fixed Based Operation Building
(FBO) at the Grand Bahama International Airport.
Incoming passengers can be picked up on the
arrival side of this building.
Persons wishing to travel to Ft. Lauderdale/
West Palm Beach must present a valid U.S. Visa
for processing by U.S. authorities upon arrival
in Florida. Passengers travelling to Florida from
the islands without a U.S. Visa will have to transit
through Nassau.
Silver Airways is now offering daily
flights between Fort Lauderdale and
Freeport every day except Tuesdays
with two flights per day on Saturdays.
In addition, Silver offers daily flights
between Fort Lauderdale and Marsh
Harbour every day except Mondays and
Tuesdays. Silver is looking forward to
resuming service to Treasure Cay in the
Abacos in February 2020, pending the
airport’s re-opening.
Grand Bahama Island Hotels Reopen
Old Bahama Bay Resort & Yacht Harbour, a resort that
played a key role in Hurricane Dorian relief efforts, reopened
in early November.
Viva Wyndham Fortuna Beach re-opened December 10th,
2019 and is offering 40% off as part of its grand reopening
celebration.
Grand Lucayan Lighthouse Pointe, Taino Beach Resort &
Clubs and more are open and welcoming visitors this travel
season.
Balearia Caribbean resumes regular service to
Grand Bahama Island
Balearia Caribbean has resumed its regular sailing to Grand Bahama Island following Hurricane
Dorian and increased services with an additional Saturday sailing.
The fast ferry service will continue supporting relief efforts on The Abacos and Grand Bahama Island
through its partnership with Reach Out Ministries.
