Angel Falls
Although located on the mainland in the Canaima National Park, Venezuela, visitors to the Los
Rogues Islands should take the opportunity to visit these great falls, the highest in the world, flowing
uninterrupted at a height of 979 metres. The falls are located in a remote part of the mainland but tours
including boat ride to the mainland and an overnight stay can be arranged from the islands.
Turtle Sanctuary
The work being done here is interesting and impressive. The facility protects and breeds several
different types of turtles, hopefully ensuring their continued existence. Turtles can be “adopted”
by visitors. The funds assist with the baby tortoises’ care until they are released. An educational
experience for all ages - highly recommended. A small fee is charged for entry.
