This is the town where eighty English settlers
landed on February 17, 1627. After that
fateful landing, Barbados became a British
colony. A week-long festival with cultural
and musical performances, a colourful
parade, pageant, art and craft exhibition,
a street fair and more, now marks this
occasion today. One of the most anticipated
events of the festival is the Grand Floodlit
Tattoo, which sees a stellar performance
by the island’s police force, displaying their
dexterity beyond policing.
