Speyside Waterwheel In the north of Tobago, there exists a small village known for fishing, birdwatching, scuba diving and snorkeling. This is Speyside where you’ll find some of the best coral reef on the island. It is understandably a popular dive site, although Buccoo Reef in the island’s south west, is more internationally known. In the early 1900’s sugar cane was the economic mainstay of the island. Today, ruins of plantations, water wheels and other reminders of that part of the island’s history can be seen at various spots on te island, including the village of Speyside. www.visittobago.gov.tt
