MACQUERIPE BAY
At the northern end of Tucker Valley that bisects Trinidad’ s Chaguaramas peninsula, sits Macqueripe Bay. The bay faces the Caribbean Sea but is sheltered by the Northern Range which rises steeply from the water. The beach here is smaller and less popular than Maracas Beach, but as it is just a quick drive from Port of Spain, it usually gets crowded on weekends. The eastern side of the bay sports a half ruined jetty that has now become a popular diving platform, and at the mouth of the bay, dolphins can sometimes be seen among the waves.
