Coral reefs and mangroves occupy the
beautiful eco-system that is the Los Roques
Archipelago National Park. Located 80 miles
north of Caracas, Venezuela, this 546 acre park
is the largest of its kind in the Caribbean.
The park was created to protect the Los Roques’
rich marine eco-system where, in addition to
a variety of coral, over 92 bird species call the
park home and endangered sea turtles nest.
Tourists love the park for various reasons.
