Observatory above Petion Ville
Pétion-Ville is Haiti’s affluent, metropolitian district, named after Alexandre
Sabès Pétion who is considered to be one of the founding fathers of the
country. Located east of the capital, this is the main tourist area where
you’ll find most of the modern trappings of the Western world and where
many wealthy Haitians, foreigners and diplomats live. It is also home to a
vibrant night scene with restaurants, night clubs abuzz with fervent party-
goers, casinos and lively bars, all catering to the whims and fancies of its
affluent residents.
