For an authenic barbados Experience, Shanika says...
Of course the beach has to be a staple. A visitor also should see historic Bridgetown and its Garrison. Bridgetown is our main city so you can just go and take in the atmosphere, but tours are available if you want to learn more about its history.
It would also be good to experience our countryside. We have a range of attractions from horseback riding at Ocean Echo Stables to Tie-dye workshops and calabash carving at the Calabash Garden Studios.
As a vegetarian, I would recommend The Good Life for lunch, however, for a more traditional Bajan meal, I have heard that Brown Sugar is a good bet with rice and stew, macaroni pie and cou-cou served on the menu.
Oistins on a Friday night is also a must-do for the after hours festivities, fried fish and entertainment. Speaking of after hours, a visitor should experience a good Bajan fete before leaving the island and, they will not have to look very far to find one as there is always a party happening in Barbados.
