Aruba is predominantly Catholic and while driving through the north eastern coast you will find a shrine built into the rock with a statue of the Virgin Mary . The impressive 700 kilogram statue was erected in 1958 and every year on February 11 , which is the day of the Feast of the Lady of Lourdes , a procession heads to the grotto where mass is performed .
