JANUARY 14 The Bonaire Maritime Film Festival
This event is organized by the Bonaire Maritime Heritage Foundation as a fundraiser for the restoration of Stormvogel, the last of the sailing cargo ships of the ABC Islands. Films include Stormvogel Rising, a short about the boat’ s rebirth and Vanishing Sail, an award-winning documentary that focuses on traditional boatbuilding on the island of Carriacou.
JANUARY
Cultural Market This event takes place the last Saturday of every month. Local arts, crafts, plants, vegetables, educational presentations, live bands and delicious food.
FEBRUARY 26 Carnival Grand Parade Kralendijk
The Grand Parade is the biggest parade of the Carnival season held on the Sunday before Ash Wednesday. Music, spectacular costumes and floats.
FEBRUARY 27 & 28
Carnival Monday & Tuesday Parades mark the end of the island’ s Carnival season culminating at the Kralendijk Staduim where they burn an effigy of the Carnival King“ King Momito”.
MARCH Cultural Market This event takes place the last Saturday of every month. Local arts, crafts, plants, vegetables, educational presentations, live bands and delicious food.
