Happy Island
Happy Island is a unique island off the coast of Union Island and although privately owned by the
local visionary Janti Ramage, sailors and other visitors are always welcome at his home and bar which
he constructed on this man-made conch shell and coral rock island.

Close to the village of Owia on the island’s
north eastern coast is a pool which was
created by cooling lava from the nearby
volcano. Today the pool is replenished by
the waves from the sea and is a popular
visitor’s attraction as people come here to
bathe in the pool’s warm waters.
