Arecibo
Observatory
This is the world's largest single-dish radio
telescope and one of the most important
research centers for Radio Astronomy,
Terrestrial Aeronomy and Planetary Radar
in the Western Hemisphere. Families can
take a tour and learn how scientists use the
observatory to monitor radio emissions
from distant galaxies and search for
extraterrestrial intelligence.
