This is an annual event with simulated gun battles, fi ring of cannons and more. The costumed cast provides explanations of the animated history lesson as it progresses. 240 C / 750 F MAY 3 - 5 La Campechada An event surrounding the island’s art and culture to be held in Ponce. Each year it honours a different Puerto Rican artist and in 2019 the chosen artist is Ponce musician Juan Morel Campos who was born in 1857 and died in 1896 at 39 years old. He is thought to have produced over 700 compositions. JUNE 7 Festival de la Piña (Pineapple Festival) A day dedicated to celebrating the pineapple in La Parguera-Lajas with farm tours, local food and live entertainment. Saba St. Kitts & Nevis JUNE 7 Noche de San Juan (Saint John’s Eve) Saint John the Baptist is celebrated during this festival, where at midnight, people jump backwards in to the sea seven times for good luck.
