Whale Watching Dominica is known as the Whale Watching Capital of the Caribbean and is the only country in the world where sperm whales reside year-round. It is home to at least 20 species of whales and dolphins, including humpback whales, pilot whales and the spotted dolphin. The island’s sheer cliffs disappear underwater to create deep, sheltered bays along the western coastline and form a haven for whales and dolphins within five miles of the West Coast. © Dominica Tourism Photo Credit: David Stanley Dominica Museum Located in the island’s capital of Roseau, getting to the museum is really easy. It is on Dame Mary Eugenia Charles Blvd, a street named after a previous Dominican Prime Minster. If you’re already in the city, just ask anyone for directions and you can get to it on foot. Although small, people interested in the island’s history will find enough to keep them engaged for a while. Photos, artifacts and other exhibits give a careful account of occurrences on the island. The building itself is historic, being formerly an old post office and an old market building. It is also located in an area where slave trading once took place. History and culture certainly exists here which history buffs will surely appreciate.
