Moongates
These originated from China where
they form the entrance into private
gardens. They were brought to
Bermuda in 1860 by a Chinese sea
captain who was homesick and so
built the circular rock structure in his
garden to remind him of home.
In Bermuda today, it is believed that
walking through them will bring good
luck so honeymooners and young
couples can often be seen taking
meaningful strolls through the circle.
