Crane Beach
Located on the southeast coast, Crane Beach with its pink tinged sands and foaming surf is one
of world’s most beautiful beaches. Surrounded by cliff s, one of which houses the legendary Crane
Beach Resort, it is popular with honeymooners, boogie boarders and body surfers. . There is also one
particular spot on the cliff s which appeals to the more adventurous visitors - cliff divers.
There are over 200 shipwrecks in the waters just off Barbados. Less than half a mile off shore in
120 feet of water lies the sunken ship Stavronikita, now an artifi cial reef which was formed by
the sunken ship. The wreck and surrounding reef forms part of this National Park which is one
of the more popular dive sites on the island. It is advised that only experienced divers attempt
it, and never alone. The park also includes an aquarium and photographic exhibit.
