East Caicos A 17-mile beach lines the northern coast of the uninhabited island of East Caicos. The beach is mainly used by sea turtle to lay their eggs but it is also a great spot for a picnic although few come here for that purpose. It is accessible only by boat and at the center of the island is Flamingo Hill, the country’s highest point, standing at an impressive 156 feet. From this vantage point, you will be treated to a spectacular view of this 18 square mile island. As well as being an excellent bird- watching area, this island is also teeming with history as its caves, petroglyphs and ruins tells the story of its early settlers. A journey to this island requires an experienced guide. www.turksandcaicostourism.com
