Richardson
Artist, Tobago.
Shonari Richardson is a 22 year old artist who, like most children, experimented with
painting since he was two years old. At five, he participated in an competition that was
hosted by the Horticulture Society of Tobago and placed first.
A past student of Tobago’s Scarborough Secondary School his love for art grew during his
high school years. Placing second in a World Food Day art competition and being a finalist
for two consecutive years in the office of the Chief Secretary’s Art competition, by eighteen
years old, his painting style, mainly detailing, blossomed.
Now, after high school, Shonari ‘s passion for art continues to grow. He paints prominent
figures and celebrities, such as former Chief Secretary of the Tobago House of Assembly
the Honorable Orville London, Trinidad and Tobago Calypsonian Winston Bailey the
Mighty Shadow and Jamaica Dancehall Artists Mavado and Shabba Ranks.
Shonari will soon begin his pursuit of a Bachelors of Arts in Visual Arts at the University of
the West Indies, St Augustine campus, Trinidad.
