Swallowing five razor blades
is Kess’ most difficult trick,
to date.
doves, parrots, fishes, rabbits and snakes,
with the snakes, understandably, being the
crowd pleaser!
Being an illusionist does have its challenges
such as making everything look real and
always having to maintian the expected
''mysterious'' persona. The hardest part with
magic, Kess explained, is “getting people to
believe what they seeing is real and to do
that you have to practice over and over until
it looks flawless enough to be performed
live”. Another challenge is having to always
be prepared as he can never tell when a child
or a fan will walk up to him with the request,
''Hey can I see a trick''. As a professional
illusionist, Kess explained you can never, ever
say ''I can’t do anything right now'', because it
simply kills the magic!
Wryly, Kess mused about his most difficult
trick where he swallows five razors blades.
“It’s not a trick, it’s a skill”, he explained,
“however it has only gone wrong at least 3
times in my career but as time goes by its
beginning to get easier.”
Even though Kess performs big illusions such
as making people appear and disappear, his
favorite trick is where he turns a bird into a
snake. The crowd always gasp and scream
and that really makes his day. He thoroughly
enjoys making people smile and giving them
hope that all things are possible. That, Kess
shared, is the thing he loves most about
being an illusionist.
To date, he has performed in St Lucia,
Grenada, Dominica and regularly in his
homeland on Trinidad and Tobago.
