Perlina Murray ’ s love for reading blossomed from an early age and she has won many local and international awards over the years . Her first book , Stella ’ s Back in Town , was published in 2016 while studying in the U . S . on a Track and Field Scholarship . Mentored by the late Jacques Compton and Sir Derek Walcott , Perlina works as a Technical Officlai in the Mnistry of Sports in her island , St . Lucia .
She is also president of the St . Lucia ’ s Writer ’ s Forum , “ a fraternity where writers engage in literary study , enjoy fellowship and produce outstanding work .”
