Montpelier House
Not much remains of the house where the
British Naval Admiral, Lord Horatio Nelson
made Nevsian widow Fanny Nisbet his wife.
Only the original stone gate posts remain,
marking this momentous event in the island’s
history. On the current site today is the
upscale Montpelier Plantation Inn, beautifully
laid out in these historic surroundings. It was
the hotel of choice for Princess Diana when
she visited the island.
