Fort Napoléon This will be well worth the uphill walk or drive even if you’re not the least bit interested in history. Most will be able to appreciate the well-maintained 150 year old fort, but the main attraction, however, is the amazing view you’’ll be treated to while at the top of the highest point on Terre-de-Haut Island. You’ll see the harbour below and the surronding Guadeloupe islands. On a clear day, you will also be able to see the island of Dominica in the distance. While enjoying the view, take a stroll through the beautiful garden. Be on the lookout for lizards scampering around or reclining on branches overhead. The museum is interestig too and it tells of hard-fought naval battles between England and France. You can walk through the museum on your own or take one of their guided tours. Whatever’s your pleasure, you’ve to admit the view is simply amazing! www.lesilesdeguadeloupe.com
