Mesopotamia Valley
This area containing fertile farmland
used to grow many of the island’s
crops was once part of a volcanic
crater. Located north of the capital
of Kingstown, this fertile valley is
often referred to as the “bread-
basket” of St. Vincent. Standing at
the lookout platform in the village
of Belmont and surveying the
valley below, you cannot help but
appreciate the varying shades of
green that lie before you. An array
of tropical plants including banana
and breadfuit are part of the rolling
landscape. Definitely a scene to
capture on camera.
