Barton Creek Cave
A lovely, natural cave in the Cayo District, it
were once used by the Ancient Mayans for
ceremonial events. A canoe tour will take
visitors, headlamps on and flashlights in
hand, along a meandering river through the
cavern where they’ll see cathedral ceilings,
spectacular stalactites, Mayan pottery, bats
and skeletal remains from Mayan sacrificial
ceremonies. This is fascinating journey through
the mystical Mayan world.

Caye Caulker
Caye Caulker is a small, four-mile long coral
island off the coast of Belize. A laid-back, easy-
going atmosphere pervades throughout this
island where fishing was once its mainstay.
Now, in addition to fishing, the tourist industry
brings a new flavour. With the Great Barrier Reef
nearby, this island attracts divers and snorkelers
a-plenty. Swim in its beautiful azure waters,
windsurf, go on a jungle tour or just relax,
somewhere on the island. Shoes are optional. . .
