Balenbouche Estate Balenbouche Estate is a magical place, a world in itself. The beautiful and expansive historic grounds include a 180-year old plantation house, 18th century sugar mill, fruit orchards, pastures, lily ponds, nature trails and secluded beaches. Over the years, the owners and caretakers, Uta Lawaetz and her two daughters, gradually and thoughtfully transformed the estate from a struggling farm to a well known but intimate family run plantation guesthouse, heritage site and and organic farm. Carefully placed within this stunning and authentic backdrop are five eco-chic guest cottages created from traditional structures, each with its own unique design and appeal. The personal, family atmosphere, delicious healthy meals and focus on wellness and sustainability, as well as relative proximity to many local attractions have made Balenbouche Estate a popular venue for independent travelers as well as retreats and weddings. Yoga classes and workshops take place in the old cotton barn, or under one of the ancient banyan and mango trees. A team of local and international therapists offers a wide range of services and activities designed to nurture the mind, body and spirit.
