Marigot Bay
Marigot Bay has featured in several
movies including Doctor Doolittle as
it presents an idyllic Caribbean scene
with white sand, anchored yachts and
swaying palms. The trip to the bay
though is equally rewarding. You pass
banana fields as it follows the Venus
River which, if you choose to take a
short trek, will provide you with a nice
freshwater pool for bathing.
Pigeon Island
National Park
This is one of St Lucia’s main attractions
and consists of Pigeon Island which is
reached by way of a causeway from the
main island. With beautiful grasslands
and dry tropical forest this was the hide-
away for French Pirate Jambe de Bois. As
well as being popular with tourists Pigeon
Island is now the venue for the annual
Saint Lucia Jazz Festival.
The Pitons
The Pitons is a UNESCO World Heritage
Site. Its main features are Gros Piton,
Petit Piton and the Sulphur Springs. The
Sulphur Springs is supposedly the world’s
only drive-in volcano whilst Gros Piton
and Petit Piton are two of the Caribbean’s
most majestic peaks.
