Summer Series in France” and the St. Barts Music Festival The weekend festival called “72 Heures de Musique” will be holding its 26th season on August 18,19, 20, 2017 and is held at the Chateau d’Ainay- le-Vieil. It is a smaller event with fewer number of performing artists (11 so far this year) than in St. Barths (which ha d 63 artists this season; Jan.8 - 22, 2017). Both are equally stunningly beautiful venues and when we invite our musical friends they always say Oui ! Most of the invitees are major performing artists who travel around the world and our two events are full of music and fun. Major support for this intimate musical weekend is from the Florence Gould Foundation (NYC) and the Chateau’s Bigny and dePeyronnet families. It is a small, local community and has small audience numbers just like the island. We include a friday night concert (Jazz with the Aaron Goldberg trio; 2017), a Saturday evening chamber concert with candlelit dinner afterwards in the Chateau’s courtyard, a sunday children’s concert then an early evening chamber music concert. 4 magical events for under 200€ and a weekend of fun! There are plenty of quaint chamber d’hotes within 20 km of the Chateau. Anyone can order tickets/reservation online at http://chateau-ainaylevieil.fr About Performance Venues We perform in many venues on the island — on the central wharf area, in various island churches, in the schools and at City Hall. Next year during the orchestra week we hope to give live performances at Gustavia’s newly designed Open Park which is a resting spot for the hospital visitors.
